Terms and Conditions v1.3

  1. Introduction

These terms and conditions set out the relationship between you (the “Client”) as parent/guardian of your child (the “Student”) and Mike Jubb (“MJ”) as tutor.

  2. Lessons

MJ will endeavour to provide appropriate and engaging lessons for the Student.
The Client should be “present” for all lessons. This means in the same building and monitoring the lesson appropriately.

MJ will adhere to the CODE OF PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE FOR ORGANISATIONAL AND INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS AND CODE OF ETHICS FOR INDIVIDUAL TUTORS

  3. Homework and lesson planning

The homework is used as feedback following a lesson to check what a Student has understood. This homework is discussed in the following lesson and provides MJ with important indications that assist with lesson planning.

The Client is requested to arrange for the completion and return of the homework in a timely fashion to assist with lesson planning.

  4. Cancelling lessons

The Client and MJ will both try their best to attend lessons at the agreed time.

If the Client cancels the lesson more than 72 hours before the lesson, there is no charge. The lesson cost will be refunded if already paid.
If the Client cancels the lesson less than 72 hours before the lesson and MJ is unable to find a replacement student for the slot then the lesson will be charged for. (Great if you can let me know as soon as possible - so I can look for a replacement asap!).

If MJ cancels a lesson at any time (this is rare) there is no charge and any payments will be refunded. MJ will endeavour to give as much notice as possible of cancellations.

  5. Payment

Lessons are invoiced monthly in advance. Payment for lessons should be made within 14 days of receipt of the invoice please.

  6. Materials

The Client agrees not to share or make copies of the material provided to them for use by others.

  7. Data Protection

MJ will hold all data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation.

This means that data relating to the Client and the Student is held in a secure environment. MJ will not discuss the performance of the Student with others without the written permission of the Client.

The Client may request all / any data that is held, be provided to them or deleted.
Data is held in line with our privacy policy

  8. Complaints

Complaints should be raised with MJ who will investigate and seek to resolve the complaint. In the event that a satisfactory outcome is not achieved, the Client can escalate the complaint to The Tutors’ Association.

  9. Duration and Governing Law

These terms and conditions apply for the duration of the relationship.

If these terms and conditions are materially updated then MJ will notify the Client.

The Client is deemed to have agreed to the updated terms and conditions when they subsequently book lessons.

These terms and conditions and the transactions contemplated hereby shall be governed by, and construed and interpreted in accordance English Law.
